SharePoint Review - By: Trogger

04/21/11

Pros:

We signed up for sharepointhosting.com in August, 2009. We've had 100% uptime.

Cons:

We've been trying to get and pay for our bill since August, 2009! Our costs for sharepointhosting.com are SKYHIGH because of the manpower we've put into trying to pay our bill! It took 1-1/2 years to get a bill, and now they don't take credit cards!!

Other Thoughts:

They are owned by Dell and all of their billing support is OUTSOURCED to India! I will NEVER buy another product from Dell, as long as they outsource their jobs to India. NEVER AGAIN.

SharePoint Review - By: DSF

Pros:

I have found the technical support to be pretty responsive and the up time not bad.

Cons:

I have had this service for over a year without being charged. I have attempted to contact the billing department 7 times with no luck. I just want to give them a CC#! I am expecting the site to disappear at any moment.

Other Thoughts:

I have no faith in this hoster, so am bailing after 14 months of free service. It was a good pilot anyway.

SharePoint Review - By: Jack

02/02/10

Pros:

Had started out with no issues and they had a pretty good up time, but recently they have gone downhill.

Cons:

We ran out of space and 6 calls later, we still can't anyone to expand our service. Support tickets are handled by Dell. No live support. Avoid. 6 calls and counting with no resolution.

Other Thoughts:

I fear that this company is close to bankruptcy by the way they support their site. Looking for someone to transition to. Watch out for this risk when having someone host your SharePoint site. Request guarantees on support.

SharePoint Review - By: Worst Service Ever!!

12/24/09

Pros:

It's dirt cheap. No other pros.

Cons:

You get what you pay for. Service goes in and out. Support is almost non-existent.

Other Thoughts:

Search functionality doesn't work even though its advertised. Support takes forever to do anything if you can get a even hold of someone.

SharePoint Review - By: Completely Dissatisfied

08/30/09

Pros:

They claim that they give you unlimited users.

Cons:

Horrible, rude, customer service, they take no responsibility for issues, they turned off Search functionalit, changed their backup policy, changed their SP Designer policy, and impose user limits - all without ever informing us.

Other Thoughts:

This is the worst hosting company bar none. They are crooks. They change policies and pricing at will without informing their customers, and do not honor original agreements and policies.

Case in point:

1)We signed up with them because they advertised unlimited users. Without telling us, they have decided to impose a user limit.
2)In several years not a single hotfix, patch, update, or service pack has been applied to any of our site servers, despite repeated attempts to get them to do so.
3)They disabled search functionality, and didn't tell us. The excuse given that it consumes too many server resources. No recourse - we are left with crippled WSS sites on which our users cannot even conduct search functions - a major loss in functionalty.
4)Originally made site backups available via SPD, but there is a bug in the old version of WSS so these backups fail. The only way we can get our data is by paying an exhorbitant fee for a one-shot backup, or an equally exhorbitant fee for regular backups. Of course if they applied the necessary patches to the host we could backup ourselves via SPD, but they won't do this. They now claim they do not support SPD, although we purchased it from them as part of our hosting packages.
5)They routinely don't respond to calls/emails for technical support
6)They always assume that problems/issues are not their own, unless pressed
7)Their website claims are inconsistent with their service offering, and company structure, and it is loaded with outright false claims about the company, eg, they claim they are privately owned independent company, but they have been acquired at least 2 times since I've been with them and they are now under Dell.
